My main research interests are connected with any kind of scientific dating methodology in archaeology. In my Master's thesis I have refined the late avar chronology in the Carpathian Basin with the application of statistics (cluster analyses), in particular I have worked with the lily motif on avar belt garnitures. My current PhD research is focused on archaeological dating evidence (tephrochronology, radiocarbon dating, typology, and stratigraphy), involving all settlements and burials excavated in Iceland which are dated to the Viking Age. I am also interested in Bayesian statistics to refine single site chronologies.
