I focus on understanding the mutually impactful relationship between humans and the environment. I take a socio-natural theoretical and historical ecology approach in my research. My work is concentrated on the cultural and environmental history of the Rat Islands, western Aleutians, Alaska. I am an archaeologist and I lead a multidisciplinary team of bio-, geo-, and social scientists. I specialize in zooarchological analyses and settlement analysis.
