As part of the "Dynamics of the First Human Dispersals" research group of CNRS UMR 7194 ("Natural History of Prehistoric Man") and the MNHN Department of Man and Environment, I pursue research on the evolution of organic sediments in tropical karst settings during the Quaternary. I am particularly interested in their palaeoenvironmental applications, geochemical potential, and impact on archaeological deposits.
I am currently investigating the rich guano deposits and the derivative phosphate minerals of Tabon Cave (Palawan, Philippines) in a wider attempt to establish a geochronology for the site, as well as to reconstruct the palaeoenvironmental conditions surrounding the arrival of the first Homo sapiens in the region.
