Details about Markus Dotterweich and linked projects and collaborations.
My scientific contributions encompass:
1. system-theoretical approaches to long-term human-environmental processes focusing on soil erosion, soil development, and land use, which has made a lasting impact on understanding the processes and effects of past land use and climate to current landscape,
2. high resolution reconstruction of extreme soil erosion events and their effects to the environment which demonstrate the high importance of sudden changes between climate change and land use, and
3. long-term soil erosion modelling approaches to reconstruct past topography which has proved essential for the understanding of soil erosion processes over a longer period.
4. reconstructing ancient human-environment interactions and past land use techniques to sustain modern soil management strategies counteracting the pressure on agricultural soils.
