Details about Shelby Anderson and linked projects and collaborations.
My research interests include hunter-gatherer social and technological change, evolutionary theory, environmental anthropology, geoarchaeology, ceramic technology, and archaeology of the Arctic, Sub-arctic and Pacific Northwest. My dissertation research focused on the development of complex hunter-gatherer social organization during the late Holocene in Northwest Alaska. I tested a model of social change through ceramic analysis, source provenance survey and analysis, and settlement study. I am also the director of the Cape Krusenstern Human-Environmental Dynamics project.
