Details about Seth Brewington and linked projects and collaborations.
My research focuses primarily on human-ecodynamics in the Viking-Age to early-medieval period of the North Atlantic. A central component of my dissertation involved the analysis of the largest archaeofaunal assemblage yet studied from the Faroe Islands, from the settlement-period site of Undir Junkarinsfløtti. My current work includes ongoing collaboration on a multi-disciplinary comparative study of social-ecological resilience in the Norse North Atlantic and prehistoric US Southwest. My research interests include social-ecological dynamics, sustainable resource management, island and coastal archaeology, and zooarchaeological method and theory.
