- Human Geography
- Natural Resources
My work focuses on international development, globalization, and natural resource management. Since 1998 I have studied the impacts of large-scale mining development on the Ipili people of highlands Papua New Guinea. My work there also examines indigenous environmental knowledge and agroforestry practices in a climatically challenging and variable montane tropical ecosystem.
Recent research interests are focused on livelihood vulnerabilities and perceptions of climate change in western Uganda.
